The average hair mask can set you back anywhere between £10 and £50 and with every tub you throw away you are contributing to the beauty industry’s growing waste problem. Why not create your mask with all-natural ingredients that you are guaranteed to have sitting at home. For dry and dull hair mix together:
1 teaspoon of honey, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
Leave this on for 30-40 minutes, your scalp will thank you for it.
HOME CLEANING
Hold on to that old Mr. Muscle bottle and mix up your own potion. Just as effective and a fraction of the price, not only are homemade cleaning products kind to the planet, they’re kind to your wallet.
All purpose Cleaner recipe:
1/2 cup white or cider vinegar
2 cups water
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol 70% concentration
1 to 2 drops of essential oil for smell (optional)
Switching out these small tasks for planet-friendly alternatives can give you a real sense of triumph. We get it, making your own hair mask and using a guppy bag probably isn’t going to change the world but it is all these small things that when added together can truly make a difference.
